Learning Point
Client Overview
With an aim to bridge the gap between education research and education practices, Learning Point Associates began as the North Central Regional Educational Laboratory (NCREL) in the basement of an elementary school in Elmhurst, Illinois in 1984. It is the year 2004, NCREL baptized Learning Point Associates. Learning Point Associates is known for their leadership in afterschool services, literacy curriculum development, district and school improvement, and educator effectiveness nationally in the U.S.
Project Requirements
Learning Point Associates produces a variety of products, publications and multimedia tools for educators and policymaker. Their aim was to improve deliverables strategies of educators and policymakers. Substantial research is involved to generate assessment based on the surveys done. As a result, an automated and customizable tool was required which could generate fact-based decisions on basis of assessment conducted. The tool needed to be designed to allow a school or district to sign up for a "Project" and one person would be assigned as the "project administrator" who would be in charge of configuring the options for that project (e.g. what tests are to be taken, by whom, when, what kinds of data is needed, what kind of data roll-up is required, etc.).
BluEnt Approach and Methodology
BluEnt was approached by Learning Point Associates with the task of developing an efficient and user-friendly Assessment Engine. Learning and developing efficient tools for effective learning without assessment is meaningless. BluEnt responded quickly and developed an Assessment Engine for Learning Point Associates. This engine encompassed the current model of assessment strategies, which helped in evaluating individuals, teams or organizational impacts. The assessment engine included a user-friendly interface for taking tests/surveys and using the data to generate assessments. It also provided integrated sections for various administrative users to manage and monitor activities of other participants.
Technologies Used
.NET, C#, MS SQL
Results
